The 14 games of Duck Pond

2 and 3 year olds

To get started: few options, big pictures and the teacher’s voice.

  • 1

    Fishing at the pond

The duck went fishing! The fish swim back and forth. Wait for a fish to pass under the hook and tap Fish. Careful: there's trash floating in the pond.

4 and 5 year olds

More pieces that look alike, asking for attention and memory.

    Catch the number

Each fish in the pond carries a number. Listen to which one the duck wants, wait for it to pass and catch it at the right time.

  • 3

    Fit the blocks

The duck wants to fill the holes in the dock with blocks. Pick a piece, tap where the square with the dot goes and see if it fits.

5 and 6 year olds

Bigger challenges and the party that reviews everything the child learned.

  • 4

    Catch the letter

Now the fish carry letters. Say the word slowly, find the first letter and catch the fish that has it.

  • 5

    Treasure map

The duck found a map! The rows have colors and the columns have pictures. Find the row with the color, follow it to the column with the picture and dig there.

    Near the boat

Now the clue uses things on the map. Same row means across, to the side; same column means up and down.

  • 7

    Treasure path

The map tells you to move space by space, following the arrows. Start at the right spot and count each step with your finger.

    Light the lanterns

There's going to be a night party at the pond! Each lantern you tap turns on or off along with its neighbors. Think before you tap: your taps are counted.

    Lanterns in a row

On the pond's dock, the lanterns are lined up in a row. Tapping one changes it and the neighbors beside it.

  • 10

    Lights out for bed

The party is over and the duck wants to sleep. Now it's the other way around: turn off all the lanterns, with the same neighbor rule.

    Block shapes

You can build shapes with blocks: a cross, stairs, a little house and even a duck! Fit all the pieces.

    Pond party

    Region party

The lanterns lit up and feathers rained down on the pond! The duck invited everyone to the party. Let's remember what you learned with him.

    Party fishing

    Region party

At the pond party, the fish came decorated with shapes. The duck wants the ones with a star!

  • 14

    Party blocks

    Region party

Lots of pieces and not much space: think about where each one fits before you place it.
